Frequently asked questions
Which favicon sizes are included?
We export 16×16, 32×32, 48×48, 64×64, 96×96, 180×180 (Apple touch), 192×192 and 512×512 PNGs, plus a site.webmanifest ready to use.
Do I still need an .ico file?
Modern browsers happily use PNG favicons. If you prefer an .ico for legacy cases, you can convert the 32×32 PNG with any PNG→ICO tool.
How do I add the icons to my HTML head?
The ZIP includes a head-snippet.html with ready links for favicons and webmanifest. Drop the PNGs at site root and paste the snippet into your <head>.
What image works best?
A square image (at least 512×512). Transparent PNG logos look great. Use “Pad” fit mode with a background color if your logo is not square.
What does the Favicon Generator do?
Create common favicon PNG sizes and a web app manifest from a valid uploaded image.
How should I interpret a Favicon Generator result?
Read the displayed labels and validation messages together, then verify important findings against the original source. The result is a practical aid, not proof beyond the data it can inspect.
What can affect the Favicon Generator result?
Inputs, source data, network conditions, and the limits explained on the page can affect the result.
