A Practical Technical SEO Check for a Web Page
Review links, robots directives, sitemaps, screenshots, and repeated page terms without treating one score as a ranking guarantee.
Begin with crawl access
Check the exact robots.txt and sitemap responses, then confirm important URLs return successful status codes without redirect chains. A sitemap helps discovery but does not override robots directives, canonical signals, or noindex metadata.
Inspect pages as a crawler receives them
Review titles, descriptions, canonical URLs, headings, structured data, and internal links in rendered output. Broken-link checks should include redirected and malformed destinations, while intentional external failures need separate review.
Prioritize by impact
Fix blocked or non-indexable key pages first, followed by duplicate canonicals, server errors, and broken navigation. Treat automated scores as leads. Validate changes against search-engine documentation and monitor coverage after deployment.
